Henrique Cartaxo is a Brazilian film editor, filmmaker, and video artist whose work spans fiction, documentary, video journalism, and experimental media. As an editor, his films have screened in competition at major international festivals such as Cannes, Sundance, and Clermont-Ferrand, and he was awarded Best Editing at the Adana Film Festival for Ela and Hilmi with Ali. He has worked across a wide range of formats—from narrative features to videodance—collaborating with directors in Brazil and abroad since 2008.
Parallel to his editing practice, Henrique explores autobiographical documentary and videoart through a hybrid visual language that incorporates glitch aesthetics, creative coding, and AI. His directorial and artistic works have been exhibited at festivals including DocLisboa, True/False, Uppsala ISFF, Fubar, and Stuttgarter Filmwinter, as well as in galleries and digital art spaces in Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, Brussels, Lisbon, Istanbul, and São Paulo.
Henrique holds a degree in Social Communication and Medialogy from Unicamp and is a graduate of the Prague Film School. His practice is rooted in experimentation and driven by an interest in personal narrative, collaboration, and the intersections of cinema and contemporary art.
